FAQs

How Did We Start 2 Lost Turtles?

After our father passed away in 2022, we took a much‑needed trip together — part healing, part reconnecting, and part remembering just how important family really is. What stood out most were the countless nights spent around a table, laughing, competing, and creating memories playing games with our parents around the dinner table.

That trip inspired us to create 2 Lost Turtles, a small family‑run company dedicated to designing family‑friendly card games that bring people together. Our goal is simple: honor our dad’s memory by helping other families make their own unforgettable moments. If our games spark even one great laugh or one new tradition, we’ve done our job.

How Did We Come Up with the Name 2 Lost Turtles?

This is one of our favorite stories and thus a large part of why we chose the name 2 Lost Turtles.  When we were kids, our parents rescued two turtles wandering across a Kansas highway on the drive home from our grandparents’ house. We kept them in our backyard for months… until one day they “escaped.”

We searched everywhere in that fenced in backyard (where escape was actually impossible) like tiny, panicked wildlife detectives — only to learn years later that our parents had secretly released them into a local pond.

The story stuck, the joke stuck, and now the name stuck. Welcome to the inside joke. We have many. You’ll probably hear more.

What If I Have Suggestions for Rules Changes?

We love creative players. If you’ve discovered a fun variation, a house rule, or a tweak that makes the game even more exciting, head over to our Contact Us page and send it our way.

Games evolve, and some of the best ideas come from the people actually playing them. Our only rule is that everyone should be having fun and making memories.

What Ages is Tac Stack Boom Designed For?

Tic Stack Boom is designed for ages 7 and up, making it a perfect fit for families, classrooms, parties, and anyone who loves fast‑paced, easy‑to‑learn card games.

That said, we know every family has that kid — the precocious 5‑year‑old who can already out‑strategize the adults. If they can recognize colors and shapes, follow simple rules, and enjoy a little friendly chaos, they’ll fit right in

How Long Does a Game of Tic Stack Boom Take?

Most games last about 20 - 30 minutes, unless, of course, you’re playing with that one friend or family member.

You know the one:
The Master Strategist who studies every card like they’re defusing a bomb.
Or the Chaos Player who slaps down the first matching card they see.

Either way, rounds stay quick, lively, and perfect for “just one more” rematches. Tic Stack Boom is designed to be a fast, easy‑to‑learn card game that keeps the energy high and the table laughing.

How Many Players Can Play?

Tic Stack Boom plays best with 2–8 players, making it ideal for families, friend groups, classrooms, and small parties. The more players, the more chaotic (and hilarious) the stacks become.  More than 8 players can actually play, but some of the players may need really long arms.

Is Tic Stack Boom Easy to Learn?

Yes — extremely. Tic Stack Boom is designed to be easy to learn in under 5 minutes, even for new or casual gamers. Simple rules, fast turns, and lots of energy make it enjoyable and engaging for all skill levels.

Is Tic Stack Boom Good for Classrooms, Parties, or Game Nights?

Definitely. Tic Stack Boom is a fast, high‑energy card game that works beautifully in classrooms, youth groups, family gatherings, and game nights. It encourages quick thinking, friendly competition, and lots of laughter.

Are You Planning More Games?

Yes — and fun fact: Tic Stack Boom isn’t even the first game we created. Before this one ever hit the table, we spent nearly a year developing another game that’s still waiting patiently in our shell… er, queue.

But when we tested Tic Stack Boom, we realized it had that magical mix of fast‑paced fun, family‑friendly chaos, and easy‑to-learn gameplay that people instantly connected with. So we gave it our full focus and brought it to life first.

The good news?
We’re always designing, tinkering, and playtesting behind the scenes. More family card games, party‑friendly games, and tabletop surprises are definitely on the way — and we can’t wait to share them with you when they’re ready to hatch.
